Mystical One Recalls "Peanut Punch" 

Mystical One LLC of Jamaica, NY is recalling its 16 ounce packages of Peanut Punch drink because they may be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes.

The recalled Peanut Punch was distributed to West Indian restaurants in New York City. The product comes in 16 ounce plastic bottles with expiration date of March 03, 2009.

Consumers who have purchased 16 ounce bottle of Peanut Punch are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Goya Foods, Inc. Announces Recall of Dried Yellow Potato (Papa Seca Amarilla)

Goya Foods, Inc. of Secaucus, NJ, is recalling its 12 ounce packages of Dried Yellow Potato (Papa Seca Amarilla), UPC 041331050562, because it contains undeclared sulfites. Consumers who have sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The product is packaged in 12 ounce plastic bags, all production lot codes are affected and the product has been distributed nationwide. It is a product of Peru.

Consumers who have purchased Goya brand Dried Yellow Potato (Papa Seca Amarilla) are urged to contact Goya Foods, Inc. for a full refund.

Marron Foods Recalls Instant Non Fat Dry Milk Boxes 

Marron Foods, a Durand, WI. company is  recalling approximately 140 cases of Non Fat Dry Milk  that may contain a piece of metal that came off the packaging equipment.

Swallowing fragments of metal may constitute a choking hazard.

Product was distributed in Safeway Food stores nationally.

S&M (USA) Enterprise Corp. Issues Recall for Uneviscerated White Herring

S&M (USA) Enterprise Corp at 4703 2nd Ave Brooklyn NY 11232 (Mailing address: 136 Bowery, #417 New York, NY 10013) is recalling White Herring because the product was found to be uneviscerated.

The recalled White Herring was distributed in New York State in uncoded, 16 oz. clear plastic bags.   The White Herring is a product of China.

This product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum spores, which can cause Botulism, a serious and potentially fatal food–borne illness.

San Link Inc. Issues a Recall for Uneviscerated Vacuum Packaged Dried Chechon

San Link Inc at 1763 Bath Avenue Brooklyn NY 11214 is recalling vacuum-packaged Dried Chechon because the product was found to be uneviscerated.

The recalled vacuum packaged Dried Chechon was distributed in New York State in random weight plastic bags (0.66lb average), coded - 21.12.2008.  The vacuum packaged Dried Chechon is a product of Russia.

This product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum spores, which can cause Botulism.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. Consumers that have purchased vacuum packaged Dried Chechon are advised not to eat it and should return it to the place of purchase.

Washington Firm Recalls Frozen Ground Chicken Products That May Contain Foreign Materials 

Lucy's Enterprises, Inc., a Kent, Wash., establishment, is recalling approximately 13,776 pounds of frozen, ground chicken products that may contain foreign materials.
The following products are subject to recall:

• 16-ounce packages of "Trader Joe's, Chile Lime Chicken Burgers," with the date code "3158" embossed on the side of the box. Each package contains four chicken burgers.

Each label bears "P-8276" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were produced on Nov. 10, 2008, and were distributed to Trader Joe's supermarkets nationwide.

Pennsylvania Firm Recalls Stuffed Chicken Products Due to Undeclared Allergen 

Weis Markets, Inc, a Sunbury, Penn., establishment, is recalling approximately 2,852 pounds of stuffed chicken breast products because they may contain an undeclared allergen, wheat.

The following products are subject to recall:  

• 1-pound packages of Weis Quality Premium Meats, "Simply Delicious Chicken Cordon-Bleu." 

Each label bears "P-8821" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The chicken cordon bleu products were produced on various dates between Jan. 8 and Feb. 26, and were shipped to retail stores in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Reser's Fine Foods, Inc. Recalls Thai Noodle Salad 

Reser's Fine Foods, Inc. of Beaverton, OR is recalling bulk pack size Thai Noodle Salad because it has the potential of being contaminated with salmonella. 

The recalled Pasta Thai Noodle was distributed to retailers and foodservice distributors in OR, WA, IL, ND, MT, ID, CA, SD, Alberta and British Columbia.

This product is limited to 118 cases of a bulk package size containing two 5 lb. tubs of Reser's UPC code No. 71117.14225 Thai Noodle Salad with Use By Dates (code dates) of 3/1/09 and 3/8/09. The product is sold in a tub labeled with the UPC on the lid. The tub lid is also marked with the Use By Date on the lid edge.

Customers who bought Thai Noodle Salad (Item No. 71117.14225) with the 3/1/09 or 3/8/09 Use By Dates should not consume it. They should return it to the store where it was purchased.

Jelly Belly Candy Company Recalls Chocolate Peanuts and Clusters 

Jelly Belly Candy Company is recalling chocolate-covered peanuts, chocolate peanut clusters and no-sugar added chocolate peanuts, three peanut confections in the company's line of 200 confections. The company is recalling the three candies due to the potential for salmonella contamination.

The bulk chocolate peanut products are sold in bulk scoop bins to grocery outlets and candy shops nationwide and are labeled on the bin with the name of the products:

"Chocolate Peanuts from the makers of Jelly Belly"
"Peanut Clusters from the makers of Jelly Belly"
"No Sugar Added Chocolate Flavor Coated Peanuts"

For Bulk bin items, no UPC codes are visible at the time of purchase.

Professional Recreation Organization Inc. (PRO Sports Club) Recalls 20/20 Lifestyles Peanut Toffee Crunch Bars 

Professional Recreation Organization Inc is recalling 20/20 Lifestyles Peanut Toffee Crunch bars with best by dates of February 12th 2009, May 15th 2009 and September 26th 2009 because these bars were manufactured using peanut products recalled by Peanut Corporation of America because of potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. 

20/20 Lifestyles Peanut Toffee Crunch bars were sold from Professional Recreation Organization Inc’s Bellevue Washington, Redmond Washington, and Seattle Washington locations as well as from Professional Recreation Organization Inc’s online web stores at shop.proclub.com and shop.2020lifestyles.com.

Potentially affected Peanut Toffee Crunch Bars can be identified by the following Best By dates:

Schwan Expands  Recall of Ice Cream

Schwan's Global Supply Chain, Inc., expanded its recall of one ice cream product containing peanut products that were sourced from Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), which is the focus of an ongoing Salmonella investigation.

The initial recall affected seven product identification codes for ice cream product #216 Schwan's® Caramel Peanut Chocolate Bar.   As a cautionary measure, the recall has been expanded to include:

• all 1.75 quart cartons of “#216 Schwan's® Caramel Peanut Chocolate Bar” ice cream (regardless of product identification codes).

Trader Joe’s Announces Recall of Trader Joe’s Vegan Trail Mix Cookies (Northern California Stores Only), Sweet, Savory & Tart Trail Mix Bars and Trail Mix Fruit & Nut Bar 

Trader Joe’s today issued a recall for three private label products: Vegan Trail Mix Cookies (Northern California Stores Only), 12-ounce (UPC 22442), Sweet, Savory & Tart Trail Mix Bars, 7.4-ounce (UPC 68686) and Trail Mix Fruit & Nut Bar (item sold individually), 1.6-ounce (UPC 91954) because the products contain peanut butter that was manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), which is the focus of an ongoing Salmonella investigation.

The affected Vegan Trail Mix Cookies were sold only in Trader Joe’s stores located in Northern California. The Sweet, Savory & Tart Trail Mix Bars and Trail Mix Fruit & Nut Bars were sold at Trader Joe’s stores nationwide.

These products were distributed to retail stores nationwide.

The UPC number is on the back of the package near the top on the right. The best by date or lot number is on the front of the package near the bottom. These products are packaged in clear film packages with a label that reads “Werner Gourmet Snacks” at the top of the package and come in a variety of net weights ranging from 3 to 9 ounces. Betty Lou’s Inc. of McMinnville, Oregon is expanding their current recall of Betty Lou’s Nut Butter Peanut Butter Protein Balls because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. 

Betty Lou’s Nut Butter Peanut Butter Protein Balls were distributed nationally through retail health food stores, wholesalers and direct to customer sales.

All Nut Butter Peanut Butter Protein Balls distributed from January 1, 2008 to February 16, 2009  are involved in this recall. Potentially affected products can be identified by the following Best By Dates:

BEST BY 20SEP09 dated product was made with nuts from a separate supplier not affected by this or any other recall. All further production runs of Betty Lou’s Nut Butter Peanut Butter Balls will be made using this new supplier and will not be part of this recall.

Umpqua Dairy Products, Co of Roseburg, OR is expanding their recall of Tin Roof Sundae Ice Cream, Premium Lite Tin Roof Sundae ice cream, and Pints of Tin Roof Sundae Ice Cream, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  

The affected products were distributed to retail grocery stores throughout Oregon, Washington and Northern California.  Umpqua Dairy is currently in the process of notifying all of the retailers who purchased these flavors and asking them to voluntarily remove all Tin Roof Sundae products from store shelves.  Consumers who have purchased the products should check their freezer for the product.

Betty Lou's Inc. of McMinnville, Ore., is recalling 65,110 donated Peanut Oregon Health Food Bars because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Betty Lou's Inc. distributed the Peanut Oregon Health Food Bars on a donation basis through the Oregon Food Bank Network of regional food banks, serving Oregon State and Clark County in Washington State.

The potentially affected products are 1.8 oz. bars, individually wrapped in clear plastic film, most are stamped with manufacturing dates. Some bars may not have any date or coding information. There is no UPC code. Oregon Food Bank (OFB) packed approximately 12 individual bars in a clear plastic bag with a label on the outside of the bag listing ingredients and stating "power bar" "distributed by Oregon Food Bank."

Due to a production error, the product is mislabeled and contains albacore tuna in soybean oil with vegetable broth that contains soy. 

Tri-Union Seafoods' trace-back measures determined distribution of the product at retail was limited to 900 cases – the vast majority of which were distributed to the Northeast (two cases were distributed to Publix stores in the Southeast). The 5-ounce variety of Genova solid light tuna in olive oil was distributed in January and February. The individual pouches are not labeled for retail sale or identified with a lot code. The pouches are white with brown lettering and are labeled Lucky Peanut Butter with net weights of 0.75oz. or 1.12oz.

Ramsey Popcorn Co. Recalls Camp Masters Chocolatey Peanut Clusters Sold In Maryland, Mississippi And Texas 

Ramsey Popcorn Co. is recalling 117 bags of 12 oz Chocolatey Peanut Clusters as a result of the expansion of the PCA recall related to Salmonella.

The recalled lot was sold through fundraising groups in Maryland, Mississippi and Texas and was shipped in December 2008.

Chocolatey Peanut Clusters are one of the five different products sold in a Camp Masters Gourmet Popcorn 88 oz. Treasure Tin, UPC 7520100820. The Chocolatey Peanut Clusters are the only product in the tin that are under recall. The recalled lot of Chocolatey Peanut Clusters is in a plastic pouch with a white paper label on the bag within each Treasure Tin, and the bag on the recalled lot reads “12 oz Chocolatey Peanut Clusters Best By May 24, 2009”.

Mighty-O of Seattle, WA is recalling all Nutty Vanilla Donuts produced before Feb. 5, 2009 because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. 

Nutty Vanilla Donuts were distributed in Seattle, WA and the Puget Sound area through retail stores, coffee shop displays, and bulk bins. The Nutty Vanilla Donuts were also distributed to Seattle, WA Food Banks. There are no specific UPC codes or package labeling, although stores may display a sign that says “Mighty-O Donuts, the organic donut, certified organic ingredients, dairy and egg free, trans-fat free, locally owned.” Nutty Vanilla Donuts have chocolate icing with peanuts on top. Donuts produced on Feb. 5 or afterwards are not affected by the recall.

Blanton's Candies of Sweetwater, TN is recalling approximately 195 pounds of Blanton's Peanut Brittle and Blanton's Sugar Free Peanut brittle packaged in 4  and 8 oz ounce cellophane bags, because the peanuts in the candy were supplied by the Peanut Corporation of America and it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The Peanut Brittle was distributed to seven customers in Tennessee, Florida and Georgia from 01/01/2009 – 01/30/2009.  There is no coding or use by date on the container.

Blanton's Candies has not received notice of any consumer illness associated with its products.  However, we are taking precautionary steps by removing this product from the market. 

This recall is limited to only peanut brittle distributed between 01/01/2009 – 01/30/2009.  Blanton's Candies discontinued manufacturing Peanut Brittle using peanuts from the Peanut Corporation of America on 01/30/2009.  Peanut brittle distributed after 02/09/2009 contains peanuts from another source.

Mooresville Ice Cream Co. is recalling Half Gallon and Three Gallon containers of 'Chocolate Peanut Butter Delight' flavor of DeLuxe Ice Cream.  This recall was initiated because the affected products contain peanut ingredients supplied by Peanut Corporation of America which may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The recall involves approximately 360 half gallons and 70 three-gallon cans of the affected product, which was distributed in North Carolina and South Carolina in numerous retail supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores, and food service facilities.  All venues are within 120 miles of Mooresville, NC (30 miles north of Charlotte) and no such products have been shipped outside of the retail channels.

This recall involves only the Half Gallon and Three Gallon containers of 'Chocolate Peanut Butter Delight' flavor of DeLuxe Ice Cream.  The recalled products have mix codes of “07-067” or “09-080” or “01-001” stamped in purple ink on the bottoms of the containers, and the half gallons display a UPC of 75295-00010 on their lids.  Other flavors of half gallons share the same UPC, but only the flavor of 'Chocolate Peanut Butter Delight' is suspect.  No other Mooresville Ice Cream Co. or DeLuxe Brand products are involved in this recall.

The products were packaged in boxes or bulk bags. The lot numbers affected include all lot numbers that end with the number 8. Also included are any lot numbers that contain the Code Q88 or Q89 on products containing the Something Better Natural Foods Label.

Great Harvest Bread Co. of Bellingham, WA is recalling Cupids Crunch holiday snack mix, Reindeer Food holiday snack mix and Bunny Food holiday snack mix, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  

The holiday snack mixes were distributed through Great Harvest’s retail store in Bellingham, WA.
The holiday snack mixes were bagged in 4-cup holiday festive cellophane bags tied at the top with a twist tie and with a hangtag or sticker with the name of the snack mix. There are no specific UPC, Lot Codes, or expiration dates, on the package. They were sold from February 1, 2007 through February 6, 2009. These three snack mixes are the ONLY Great Harvest Products that are involved in the recall.

Exotic Meats USA Announces Recall of Elk Tenderloin Because It May Contain Meat Derived From An Elk Confirmed To Have Chronic Wasting Disease

Exotic Meats USA of San Antonio, TX is recalling Elk Tenderloin because it may contain meat derived from an elk confirmed to have Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD). The meat with production dates of December 29, 30 and 31, 2008 was purchased from Sierra Meat Company in Reno, NV.  

Exotic Meats USA purchased 1 case of Elk Tenderloins weighing 16.9 lbs. The Elk Tenderloin was sold from January 16 – 27, 2009.
