Torn & Glasser Recalls Pistachio Products 

Torn & Glasser of Los Angeles, CA is recalling various products containing pistachios because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. 

This product was distributed through wholesalers and cash customer sales. These were sold in CA, AZ, CO, TX, MO, MD, PA, HI, UT, NJ,NE, NV, NM, OK, IL and LA.

Cartons bearing Torn & Glasser case labels sold between September 01, 2008 and April 8, 2009 with Julian codes between 2448 and 3658 and 0019 and 0979 included in the recall are as follows:

Consumers who have recently purchased the items listed above should not consume this product and should return it to the store of purchase for a refund or replacement.

For items purchased directly through Torn & Glasser, please set the product on “HOLD” and check with your Torn & Glasser salesperson for next steps in regard to disposition product, returns and credit issuance.

Setton International Foods, Inc. Clarifies Product and Identification Codes of Recalled Products

Setton International Foods, Inc., issued a clarification to its wholesale customers regarding the product and identification codes for bulk and packaged pistachio products due to potential contamination with the Salmonella organism.

Setton International Foods, Inc.’s clarification specifically concerns the additional retail packaged products reflected in the below table.

For bulk packages received by wholesale customers, products shipped after September 1, 2008 with either “7” or “8” as the 4th digit of the FMO number and a lot code (which appears below or next to the FMO number) beginning with the following three numbers representing the packaged Julian dates are included in the recall: 245 through 366 and 001 through 084.  Wholesale customers should check their stocks to determine if they have any of the affected products on hand. 

If wholesale customers do have products covered by the recall, they should discontinue distributing them and contact Setton International Foods, Inc. at 1-877-296-0060, Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm EDT to make arrangements for the return or appropriate destruction of the affected products.  
 
Consumers should not consume these products and should return them to the place of purchase.

McCormick & Company Recalls Lawry’s Fajitas Spices & Seasonings Packages 

McCormick & Company, Incorporated (NYSE:MKC) is recalling Lawry's® Fajitas Spices & Seasonings packages with UPC Code 2150022500 and a “best if used by” date of OCT0110PX62, sold under the Lawry's brand. Lawry's Fajitas Spices & Seasonings packages with this date code contain undeclared milk ingredients. 

The Lawry's Fajita Spices & Seasonings packages were distributed to grocery stores nationally beginning on October 17, 2008. The product is available in 1.27 oz. pouches, and the date code is found printed in black on the back, bottom center of the pouch. The “best if used by” date of OCT0110PX62 is the only date code affected by the recall.

All grocery outlets that sell Lawry's Fajitas Spices & Seasonings packages have been notified to remove the affected product (UPC Code 2150022500 and a “best if used by” date of OCT0110PX62) from their shelves immediately. Consumers do not need to return the product to the store where it was purchased. Instead, consumers are urged to contact Lawry's Consumer Affairs team at 1-800-9-LAWRYS (1-800-952-9797), weekdays from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM, or weekends from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Eastern Daylight Time) for a replacement or full refund, as well as instructions on what to do with the product.

Michigan Firm Recalls Frozen Meat and Poultry Pasta Products  

Mucci’s Food Products, Inc., a Canton, Mich., establishment, is recalling an undetermined amount of frozen meat and poultry pasta products which are adulterated and misbranded because they were prepared without the benefit of federal inspection.

The frozen meat and poultry pasta products were produced from May 1, 2008, through April 24, 2009. Each product bears the establishment number “19177” or “P-19177” inside the USDA mark of inspection as well as the Julian Dates of “1218” to “1149” located at the bottom of the box.

The frozen meat and poultry pasta products were distributed to restaurants in southeast Michigan, and to brokers and distributors in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio.

North Little Rock-based Brent and Sam’s is recalling 31 cases of “Simply Enjoy” Brand Pina Coloda White Chocolate Gourmet Cookies because it may contain undeclared pecans.  

The “Simply Enjoy” Brand Pina Colada White Chocolate Gourmet Cookies were distributed to Stop n Shop stores located in New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

The product is packaged in an individual metalized package containing the “Simply Enjoy” Brand Pina Colada White Chocolate Gourmet Cookies graphics.  This individual metalized package is packed inside a 7 oz  net weight paperboard carton containing the “Simply Enjoy” Brand Pina Colada White Chocolate Gourmet Cookie graphics. The carton is the selling unit.  Each carton has an open expiration code date of 1ASep 26 2009.  The UPC number on the cartons are 6 8826705538 and the case UPC number is 6 8826745538.

Torres Hillsdale Country Cheese of Reading, Michigan is recalling Oaxaca soft Mexican-style cheese due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. 

Products were distributed to the following states: Illinois and Minnesota.

The recalled Oaxaca cheese product was distributed to retails stores and delis in 10 pound balls, labeled with the name “Torres Hillsdale Country Cheese LLC”

The recall encompasses production dates 3/17/2009, with an expiration date of 5/20/2009.

Mave Enterprises, Inc. of Los Angeles, CA is  recalling all Pistachios sold under the It’s Delish label in 10 oz., 7 oz, and 3.5 oz. size packages because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. 

The Pistachios were sold from September 1, 2008 to April 13, 2009, in retail stores throughout Southern California as well as some retail stores in Nevada and one store in Mercer Island, Washington. Alternative Baking Company, Inc. of Sacramento, California is recalling several types of chocolate chip cookies with code dates of 015 through 036 stamped on the fold of the cellophane package in black ink.  The chips appear to contain milk.

The cookies are wrapped and sold individually in retail stores and on our web site.  Listed in the chart are the cookies with the pertinent information for identifying the recalled cookies.

Virginia Diner, Inc. Issues Recall on Gourmet Deluxe Mixed Nuts containing Pistachios

Virginia Diner, Inc. is recalling Gourmet Deluxe Mixed Nuts which contain Pistachios due to a potential contamination with Salmonella.

The recall applies only to the Deluxe Mixed Nuts listed below. The recall does not apply to any other Virginia Diner or Galloway’s Original branded products.

Some of these items may have been purchased within combination gift packs.

These Mixed Nuts were sold and distributed nationwide, via the Internet, email, mail, phone and faxed orders. The Virginia Diner, Inc. is asking wholesalers to remove the potentially impacted Mixed Nuts from retail store shelves. Consumers should return the product to the store from which it was purchased for a refund.

Nature's World LLC Recalls NW Delights Deluxe Mixed Nuts 

Nature’s World LLC of Sumner, WA is recalling 88 – (25 lb.) cases of NW Delights Deluxe Mixed Nuts distributed to retail stores and sold in retail store bulk bins, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  

Product was distributed to Safeway, Rosuaers, and Thriftway retail stores located in WA, OR, MT and AK and sold in the bulk bin section of the store.  The label on the bulk bins includes “NW Delights DELUXE MIXED NUTS”.  No other codes including UPC or expiration dates are found.  The cases were sold in the bulk bins by the retail stores between 1/21/2009 and 4/17/2009.

NOW Foods is recalling NOW Foods Brand In-shell Pistachios, 12oz bags due to potential Salmonella contamination. 

The product being recalled is 12 oz packages of Roasted and Salted In-shell Pistachios, Item 7021. The lot numbers are 1057404, 1080761, and 1099940. No other lot numbers are affected. Pistachios from these lots should not be consumed. Customers should return the product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Janzen Farms RECALLS Roasted, Salted Pistachios in the Shell 

Janzen Farms of Dayton, Oregon is recalling eighteen (18) 1 lb bags of Pistachios Inshell because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. 

Ten (10) – 1 lb bags were distributed in Lynnwood, Washington and eight (8) – 1lb bags in Dayton, Oregon, through retail stores. Products were sold from February 1, 2009 through April 10, 2009. Pistachios sold after this date are not affected by the recall.

The products were sold in 1 lb clear plastic bags closed with a twist tie with a white label with black lettering stating “Pistachios Inshell Roasted and Salted” and the firm name. There is no lot or UPC code.

Ivar's Soup, Seafood and Sauce, a Mukilteo, Wash., establishment, is recalling approximately 37,776 pounds of turkey soup products because they may contain an undeclared allergen, milk.

The following products are subject to recall:  

• 12-pound boxes of "E.R.I, TURKEY FLAVORED EGG NOODLE SOUP BASE WITH TURKEY MEAT." Each label bears the establishment number "P- 20173" inside the USDA mark of inspection and a "Produced On" date stamped onto the box.

• 12-pound boxes of "TWO SPOON HOMESTYLE SOUPS, TURKEY FLAVORED EGG NOODLE SOUP BASE WITH TURKEY MEAT." Each label bears the establishment number "EST. 20173" inside the USDA mark of inspection and a "Produced On" date stamped onto the box.

Inside each box there are four, 3-pound pouches of frozen product, which also bear a production date stamped onto the individual packages.

Bezzerides Co. is recalling certain batches of Art’s California Pistachios as a precautionary measure because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. The affected product is 2.0 oz packages of Art’s California Pistachios (in shell) with sell by dates between MAY-31-09 and DEC 31-09 and the UPC code 0 70762 01103 3. The sell by date is located in white print on the clear window portion of the package.

Wegmans Food Markets Announces Recall of Three Patisserie Products Made with Pistachio Nuts 

Wegmans is recalling White Chocolate Bark Candy, Raspberry Custard and Pineapple Almond Tarts, all made with pistachio nuts that have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  

The recalled tarts would have been purchased on or after October 8, 2008.  The recalled bark candy would have been purchased on or after December 1, 2008.  Each tart is available in a small (3 inches) and large (8 inches) size.  The white chocolate bark candy is sold in random weight cellophane bags.

The WOW Thai Peanut Wing Sauce & Dressing was distributed from November 2007 to August 2008 at all WOW Café locations nationwide. Dekalb Farmers Market is recalling ROASTED SALTED PISTACHIO WHOLE KERNELS, sold from their retail store located in GA. due to contamination with the Salmonella organism.

DeKalb Farmers Market received bulk shipments of pistachios from Setton Pistachio and repackaged them into clear plastic retail bags with stickers stating World Direct™, California Pistachio Kernel Roasted Salted, UPC 208389. The product was not coded. This product is under recall.

Consumers should be advised not to consume the recalled pistachios and return the product to the market for a refund or exchange.

Anton-Argires, Inc. Recalls Argires Brand IN THE SHELL Red, Natural Salted, Natural Roasted (Unsalted), Chili Limon Flavored, and Habanero Flavored Pistachios 

Anton-Argires, Inc. of Alsip, IL is expanding its recall to include all in the shell pistachio products packaged under the ARGIRES Brand label. The in the shell pistachios added to our recall list now include all red, natural roasted or salted, chili limon flavored and habanero (jalapeno) flavored pistachios packaged in ARGIRES BRAND packages as listed below. These products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

These items were distributed in Illinois through retail stores, direct home delivery and through mail order. Argires bought their pistachios from Setton Farms and repackaged them into the items listed in this recall.

The products being recalled have an ARGIRES logo on them. They are packaged in clear, recloseable containers (tubs), in clear bags with an ARGIRES label, or packaged in a preprinted blue bag with the Argires logo. Pack dates subject to recall are 08270 to 09089 (YYDDD) or 2702008 to 0892009 (DDDYYYY).

Tillamook Country Smoker Recalls Pistachios 

Tillamook Country Smoker of Bay City, Oregon is recalling 1.5 oz. (42 g) and 1 lb. Packages of Pistachios (Salted in Shell), because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  

The 1.5 oz. packages of Pistachios were distributed and sold nationwide through retail stores, distribution centers or via the Internet.  One pound (1 lb.) packages were sold in the onsite retail store located in Bay City, OR.

Pistachios were packaged in a 1.5 oz. (42 g) and 1 lb. plastic packages and labeled “Tillamook Country Smoker Pistachios”.  Affected products have a “Sell By Date” ranging from 07 30 09 through 12 17 09.  The 1.5 oz. package has a UPC code of “051943500607”, and there is no UPC code on the 1 lb. package.

Rich Products Corporation is recalling its Farm Rich Breaded Vegetable Sticks manufactured for foodservice operators nationwide because the product contains an incorrect ingredient list appearing on the shipping label.  Specifically, the ingredient listing on the incorrect labels do not include the allergen egg.   People who have an allergy to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Farm Rich Breaded Vegetable Sticks, Net Wt. 12 lbs., are not packaged for retail distribution and are sold to foodservice distributors nationwide. The product is packed in 6/2 lb. bags per case, and bears UPC number 1 00 41322 67262 6.  All lots are affected by this recall.

Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. is expanding its recall of pistachios to include all roasted shelled pistachios and roasted in-shell pistachios from its 2008 crop due to potential contamination with the Salmonella organism.  

The Company is sending recall notices to its commercial customers who received recalled bulk products with instructions for returning or destroying the recalled products and for notifying their customers of the recall.  Firms that have further mixed, used as ingredients, repackaged, or distributed the recalled bulk products are being advised to recall those products and contact their local FDA recall coordinator.  For retail products, consumers should return them to the place of purchase or destroy them.  

The following bulk items were distributed to the following states:  WA, MA, AL, OH, CA, NY, MI, IL, NJ, TN, GA, IN, AZ, OR, TX, MO, VA, AR, CO, NE, KY, MN, FL, NC, MD, NV, NM, VT and Canada, Korea, Hong Kong, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, UK, France, Cyprus, Greece, Lebanon, Norway, Ukraine and Ecuador.
