Diestel Turkey Ranch, a Chinese Camp, Calif., firm, is recalling approximately 6,907 pounds of ready-to-eat turkey products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Mayfield Dairy Farms is recalling 1.75 quart cartons of Mayfield Turtle Tracks ice cream with a code date of 4/11/08 and a UPC code of 75243-20120. The recall was initiated because the affected product contains peanuts, which are not listed on the label. No other Mayfield Dairy Farms products are involved in this recall.

The recalled product was produced at the Mayfield Dairy Farms plant in Athens, Tennessee and distributed to retail stores in Tennessee, Northwestern Georgia, Northern Alabama and Southeastern Kentucky.

Interstate Brands Corporation (IBC) is recalling the 3.25 oz. individual snack packages of Hostess® Mini Pound Cake with the code date of May 28 53 122, UPC #4500041159 due to a packaging error. It has been found that some Mini Pound Cake packages may in fact contain Hostess® Carrot Cake which is made with walnuts.

The recalled product has been distributed to retail stores throughout the states of Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, District of Columbia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and portions of Missouri, Arkansas and Texas. PM Beef Holdings, LLC, a Windom, Minn., establishment, is recalling approximately 117,500 pounds of beef trim products used to make ground beef, due to possible
contamination with E. coli O157:H7.

The trim was produced on March 27, 2007 and was shipped to distributors and retail outlets in Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin. Because these products later became ground beef sold under many different retail brand names, consumers should check with their local retailer to determine whether they may have purchased any of the products subject to recall.

GLASS FOUND IN IKEA JARS OF MARINATED HERRING

IKEA wants customers who have purchased an IKEA FOOD labeled jar of marinated herring with a Best Before Date 13-02-2008 or earlier to return it to their local IKEA store for a full refund.

IKEA has received two reports where customers have found a large piece of glass in IKEA FOOD labeled jars of marinated herring.

IKEA is recalling IKEA FOOD labeled jars of marinated herring with a Best Before Date 13-02-2008 or earlier. The Best Before Date (DD-MM-YYYY) is to be found on the label directly above the bar code. Country of origin is Finland.

IKEA FOOD labeled marinated herring is sold at the Swedish Food Markets at IKEA stores. Only IKEA FOOD labeled jars of marinated herring with a Best Before Date 13-02-2008 or earlier are involved in the recall – no other jars of marinated herring sold at IKEA stores are affected.

Adelines, Inc Issues a Recall on Undeclared Milk in Biscuit Sandwiches

Adelines, Inc. of Nashville, TN. is recalling the following biscuit sandwiches: Adeline's Steak and Cheese, Adelines Steak, Egg and Cheese, Adelines Bacon, and Adelines Bacon, Egg and Cheese, because they contain undeclared milk.

These products were distributed from lunch trucks and vending machines in Nashville, Tennessee from May 4 through May 11, 2007. Kayem Foods Inc., a Chelsea, Mass., firm, is recalling approximately 35,580 pounds of raw chicken sausage products due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (wheat)

The product label fails to list wheat, a potential known allergen, as an ingredient.

The following products are subject to recall:

1-pound packages of "al fresco, MANGO CHIPOTLE, sweet and spicy CHICKEN SAUSAGE." Each label bears the establishment number "P-18388" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The chicken sausage products were produced on various dates between April 16, 2005 and May 8, 2007 and were distributed to retail establishments and distribution warehouses in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Hong Chang Corporation Recalls Monkfish

Hong Chang Corporation, Santa Fe Springs, CA is recalling product labeled as monkfish because it may contain tetrodotoxin, a potent toxin. Although the product was identified as monkfish, we are concerned the product may be pufferfish because this toxin is usually associated with certain types of pufferfish. Consumption of foods containing tetrodotoxin can result in life-threatening illness or death.

A total of 282, 22-lb. boxes of monkfish were distributed to wholesalers in Illinois, California and Hawaii beginning in September 2006. This product was sold in retail stores, restaurants, and cash and carry stores in these regions.

The monkfish are individually packaged in clear plastic sleeves and placed in a plastic liner which is inside a cardboard box. There are no lot numbers on the box. The boxes are packed by total weight, 22 pounds, with labeling on one panel that reads "MONK FISH GUTTED AND HEAD-OFF PRODUCT OF CHINA". A second box panel bears nutritional facts and the following, "Ingredients: Monk fish; Imported by: Hong Chang Corp, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670; Product of China (P.R.C.)."

Consumers who have purchased this monkfish are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Care should be exercised in handling the fish as the tetrodotoxin may be present on the skin and flesh of the fish. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.

Abbott Announces Recall of Three Lots of Two-Ounce Bottles of Similac Special Care 24 Cal / fl. oz. Ready-to-Feed (RTF) Premature Infant Formula with Iron

Abbott's Ross Products Division is recalling three lots of two-ounce bottles of Similac Special Care 24 Cal / fl. oz. Ready-to-Feed (RTF) Premature Infant Formula with Iron. This product is sold in eight unit cartons of two-ounce plastic bottles in the United States, and is primarily sold through pharmacies at the direction of a health care professional. It is not commonly available on retail store shelves.

Abbott is recalling these three lots because they do not contain as much iron as indicated on the label.

The recall is limited to stock code number 59582 with lot numbers 46815D5, 47847D5 or 52023D5 printed on the outside carton and case and the lot numbers 44427X8, 4427X81 or 50005X8 printed on the bottom of the bottles. No other liquid or powdered Similac infant formulas are affected.

The three lots of infant formula were distributed in the United States between November 2006 and May 2007. Consumers who purchased Similac Special Care 24 Cal / fl. oz. RTF Premature Infant Formula with Iron from any of the specific lots mentioned above should contact Abbott's Ross Products Division at 1-888-899-9182.
