Chang Farm, River Road, Whatley, MA is recalling Bean and Soy sprouts produced from Chang Farms, with specific expired date codes because of the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes  

The affected product is packaged in 10 lb bags (bulk) and 12 oz plastic bags (retail), labeled under the Chang Farm Brand as Soy Sprouts and have a “Sell By” date of May 23, 2009 or May 24, 2009 and Bean Sprouts with “Use By” date of May 23, 2009 or May 24, 2009.

The product has been distributed to retail stores and restaurants throughout MA, CT, NY and NJ.

All grocery stores, food services, and other retailers who have this lot in MA, CT, NY and NJ should remove this product from their shelves. Consumers should discard this product or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The manufacturer of Publix 100% Whole Wheat Sliced Bagels is recalling a limited number of 12oz packaging of 100% Whole Wheat Sliced Bagels with lot code date of 10491 and 11291 as they may contain undeclared Egg. The lot code date may be found printed on the clip that closes the bag.

L&M Companies, Inc. of Raleigh, NC is recalling one lot of whole cantaloupes because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Edaleen Dairy located in Lynden, WA is recalling their Tin Roof Sundae and Chocolate Peanut Butter Nut Ice Cream in all sizes (1.75 quart carton, 1.5 gallon tub, 3 gallon tub), because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. 

Tin Roof Sundae and Chocolate Peanut Butter Nut Ice Creams were sold distributors, stores, gas stations, scoop shops, etc. throughout Western Washington (Mostly in the Whatcom area). This product was also sold through the Edaleen Store located on 9593 Guide Meridian, Lynden, WA.

Tin Roof Sundae (UPC 14138 70005) and Chocolate Peanut Butter Nut (UPC 14138 70051) Ice creams were sold in 1.75 quart Cartons, 1.5 gallon tubs and 3 gallon tubs under the Edaleen’s Brand name. The following ground beef products subject to recall were sold as tray packs of varying weights bearing a "Sell By" date of "05/09/09." The products subject to recall include:  

1-pound through 5-pound tray packs of "GROUND BEEF CHUCK," "GROUND ROUND" or "REGULAR GROUND BEEF." Each pack bears a sell by date of "05/09/09." 

There is no USDA mark of inspection on the tray packs.

LeClerc Foods Announces a  Recall of Market Pantry Chocolate Chip Chewy Granola Bars 

Leclerc Foods is recalling a single lot of Market Pantry Chocolate Chip Chewy Granola Bar packages with UPC Code 85239 20124 and a “Best By” date of 18JAN2010.

The recall was initiated because that product was mispackaged and the retail units may also contain Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars and S’more Bars. 

The product is available in 15.2 oz. boxes containing 18 bars per box and the date code is found printed in white on the right side of the box. The “Best By” date of 18JAN2010 is the only date code affected by the recall.  This product was distributed in Target stores in 35 states (AK, AL, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA RI, SC, UT, VA, WA WI, WY).

The product comes in a 4 ounce, clear plastic package labeled with either AZ Hydroponic Farming expiration date 4/18/2009 or with LA CALCO expiration date 4/23/2009. Sheridan Fruit Company of Portland, Oregon is recalling 12 oz. packages of Sheridan Fruit Company Raw Pistachio Meats, and Bulk Raw Pistachio Kernels sold between February 5th and March 30th, 2009 because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. 

The products were sold at the Sheridan Fruit Company retail store in Portland, Oregon.

Raw Pistachio Kernels were sold bulk through self service bins labeled “Raw Pistachio Kernels – Product of California, Bin #945.

Raw Pistachio meats were sold in 12-ounce bags with the Sheridan Fruit Company logo and reads “Raw Pistachio Meats – Product of California USA” and has the bar code 0 00000 55700 9. There is no other specific identifying information on the package.

Sugar Foods Issues Recall for Undeclared Milk in The Farmers Market Butter & Garlic Crouton Products

Sugar Foods Corporation is recalling 531 cases of The Farmers Market Butter & Garlic crouton product because the croutons may contain undeclared milk allergens. 

The Farmers Market Butter & Garlic croutons were distributed to Giant Eagle stores located in the Northeastern United States.

The product is packaged in a 5 oz. stand-up foil resealable package containing a yellow background, a full color picture of a salad and The Farmers Market logo with the words “Butter & Garlic Croutons” in black print on the top. The UPC number on the packages is 3003430159.  The product is labeled with “Best if Used By” codes and the applicable “Best if Used By” date range is May 29, 2009 thru January 22, 2010.  There has been one reported allergic reaction at this time.

Consumers with an allergy to milk are advised not to consume this item and they are urged to return the item to a Giant Eagle store for a full refund.

New York Firm Recalls Hot-Pot Seasoning Products Imported From an Unapproved Source 

Lion Pavilion, Ltd., a Brooklyn, NY establishment, is recalling approximately 16,213 pounds of seasoning products, which contain cattle by-products, that were ineligible for import to the U.S.
The firm is recalling these products because China is not eligible to export beef products to the United States.

The products subject to recall include: 14-ounce packages of "Lion Pavilion HOT-POT SEASONING CONTAINING BOVINE CATTLE FAT." 
The beef products were imported from China and sent to retail establishments nationwide.
