Publix Issues a Recall of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough due to Undeclared Tree Nuts 

Publix Super Markets of Lakeland, FL is issuing a allergen warning on refrigerated packages of Publix Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (18 oz. ‘Chub’ size), with a date code of 17 Sept. 2006 and an item code (UPC) of 41415-00703, the product is dough for making baked cookies. The product in question was sold at Publix stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. The ingredient label does not declare a tree nut (pecans) that may exist in the dough. Individuals who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pecans run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Michigan Firm Recalls Franks 

ConAgra Foods®, a Quincy, Mich., firm, is  recalling approximately 16,716 pounds of jumbo franks due to an undeclared allergen (milk).

The product label indicates that the package contains jumbo franks made with turkey and pork; however, the package may contain cheese smoked sausage made with pork and turkey. The cheese smoked sausage contains milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the label.

The franks were produced on May 15, 2006, and were shipped to retail stores in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Harry & David Operations Corp., of Medford, Oregon, is recalling approximately 47,300 bags of Hot Chili Pepper Tortilla Chips because they do not list milk in the ingredient statement.

Harry & David is recalling all Wild ‘N Spicy Hot Chili Pepper Tortilla Chips with an expiration date of May 1, 2006 through November 11, 2006. These tortilla chips are packaged in 14 oz. bags. The expiration date is in the upper right hand corner of the front of the bag.

These products were distributed from January 1, 2006 through July 13, 2006 throughout the United States through Harry and David Stores.

Galaxy Nutritional Foods Voluntarily Recalls 4 oz. Vegan Parmesan Flavor Grated Soy Topping

Galaxy Nutritional Foods, Inc. of Orlando, Florida is recalling all production codes of their 4 oz. "Vegan Parmesan Flavor Grated Soy Topping" because the product may contain traces of undeclared milk ingredients.

This product is distributed nationwide through natural, specialty food stores and supermarkets. The individual product labeling identifies the products as being manufactured for Galaxy Nutritional Foods, Inc., Orlando, Florida. No other Galaxy products are affected by this recall.

The Vegan Parmesan Flavor Grated Soy Topping is packaged in a 4 oz shaker canister with a dark purple label, with a UPC code of 77172-64000. Of the 39,288 shaker canisters distributed, the majority is being held in warehouse locations and has not reached consumers. The following expiration code dates are impacted:

Harry & David Recalls Harry and David Chocolate Covered Pear Bites 

Harry & David Operations Corp., of Medford, Oregon, is recalling approximately 2700 bags of Chocolate Covered Pear Bite candies because the packages may also contain Key Lime Cookie Bite candies. Both products are spherical, lime-green colored candies. The Key Lime Cookie Bite candies look similar to the Pear Bite candies, but they contain almond, egg and wheat ingredients.

Harry & David is recalling all Chocolate Covered Pear Bites with a Lot Code of 037061 printed in black ink on the bottom of the bag. These candies are packaged in clear plastic 8 oz. bags, tied with a tan ribbon at the top.
