People who have severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious allergic reactions if they consume this product.

 

The recalled Kasugai/Rakka Senbei (Japanese Cookies) are packaged in a 7 oz. plastic package with the code number 04.01.06. They were sold in New York City Retail Markets. They are a product of Japan.

Noris Farms Recalls Organic Savory Cheddar Cheese Because of Possible Health Risk

 

Noris Farms, Inc., of Scio, Oregon is recalling 24 packages of Organic Savory Cheddar Cheese, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems

 

The organic savory cheddar cheese was distributed to Alberta Cooperative and The Daily Grind retail stores in Portland, Oregon. The cheese is packaged in clear plastic overwrap in approximate one pound packages and have expiration dates of DEC 01 2003. There are no other production codes of Noris Organic Savory Cheddar Cheese in commerce.

ROYAL BALTIC LTD. of Brooklyn, New York is recalling the following Royal Baltic brand fish products:

 

(1)     Approximately 4500 lbs. of IMPERIAL-EUROPEAN STYLE SALMON, BULK WEIGHT, CODES STARTING WITH NUMBERS 129xxxx THROUGH 203xxxx;

(2)     1620 jars of HERRING IN OIL in glass jars, NET WT. 16 OZS. (1 LB.), CODES 2140803 and 1740623; and

(3)     approximately 454 packages of SALMON, SEA BASS, 8 OZ. VARIETY PACK, CODES "0521", or "PROD DATE 21 05 2003", "BEST         BEFORE 21 09 2003". The symbol "xxxx" is used as a substitute for the actual dates in the package codes.

 

The above products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Uncle Charlie's Products, Inc., 189 East Avenue, Akron. NY 14001 is recalling Apricot Muffin Mix because it may contain undeclared sulfites.

 

The Apricot Muffin Mix being recalled are those packages that DO NOT contain the phrase "Apricots, (Sulphured)" in the ingredient statement section of the back label. The recalled product was shipped throughout the United States prior to October 14, 2003.

 

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

Mayville Cheese Plant Recalls Spread Cheeses

 

Old Fashioned Foods, Mayville, is voluntarily recalling snack cheese spreads and spreadable cream cheese that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, officials at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection announced today.

 

The products were distributed under the brand name Old Fashioned Cheese® to retail stores throughout Wisconsin, in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, and in the Rockford, Ill., area. The various flavored snack cheese spreads are in 8- ounce and 16-ounce plastic containers and code-dated 6X01 May 2005 and 6X02 May 2005. The flavored cream cheeses are in 8-ounce plastic containers and code-dated 2 Nov 04. About 180 cases of the cheese spreads and 45 cases of the cream cheese were distributed.

KB Specialty Foods, in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Agriculture, today announced a voluntary recall of Deli Chef Sour Cream and Cheese Macaroni Salad from some Kroger-owned supermarkets.

 

The Sour Cream and Cheese Macaroni Salad being recalled with distributed through the deli service counters at Kroger stores in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Louisiana and Texas. The recall also included Dillan Stores in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma; Baker's stores in Nebraska; Food 4 Less stores in Michigan; and Owen's and Pay Less stores in Indiana. The product is being removed from store shelves immediately.
