Nutty Guys Issues Recall of Butter Toffee Peanuts and Yogurt Covered Peanuts

Nutty Guys in cooperation is recalling all Butter Toffee Peanuts and Yogurt Covered Peanuts with sell by dates before March 15th 2010. Insects were discovered in some of these products.

Publix Issues Recall on Pecans in Publix Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Pie

Publix Super Markets is recalling Publix Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Pie, because it was mislabeled and may contain undeclared pecans. Product was prepared at Publix stores for retail sale between November and December 2009. The recalled product has a UPC number of: 002- 95118-20399-7 and is packaged in a 30 ounce plastic container. The name of the product describes the product as "Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Pie.: The ingredient statement on the label does not declare pecan, which is an ingredient in the pie. The mislabeled pies were distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina.

Consumers who have purchased the product in question may return the product to their local store for a full refund.

Limeno LLC. Recalls Rico Queso Duro Blanco (White Hard Cheese)

Limeno LLC is recalling its 16 ounce packages of Rico Queso duro blanco (white hard cheese) distributed by Flores Food of America because they may have be contaminated with salmonella.

The product comes in a 16 ounce, clear plastic package under the Rico Queso name brand. The recalled cheese was distributed in the state of Florida in local retail stores.

Consumers who have purchased the product (white hard cheese) are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Janzen Farms Recalls Hazelnut Kernels

Janzen Farms, Dayton, Oregon is recalling hazelnut kernels because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella..

Hazelnut kernels were sold in November and December 2009 at Lenny's North, Seattle, WA and six 1 lb. bags were sold at the Sunset Produce Stand in Banks, OR.

The product is packed in 1 lb plastic bags closed with a twist-tie, with a label reading: "OREGON HAZELNUTS Product of U.S.A., JANZEN FARMS 20555 SE Webfoot Rd, Dayton, OR. Net wt. 16 oz (1 lb)".

Consumers who have purchased the select shelled hazelnuts packed by Janzen Farms in Dayton, Oregon are urged to return it to the place of purchase or discard it.

Maine Firm Recalls Ham Products

Associated Grocers of Maine, importing firm, a Gardiner, Maine, establishment, is recalling approximately 312 pounds of ham products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The following products are subject to recall:

16-ounce packages of “SUPER TRIM, Shurfine, IMPORTED, COOKED HAM, WATER ADDED, 98% FAT FREE.”

Each package bears the establishment number “141” inside the Canadian seal of inspection and a Sell by date of “10JA24.”

The ham products were produced on November 25, 2009, and distributed to retail establishments in Maine and New Hampshire.

Harrington and Sons, a Williston, Vt., establishment, is recalling approximately 68 pounds of fresh ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.

The products subject to recall include:

10-pound cryovaced packages of "LaPLATTE RIVER ANGUS FARM, LLC NATURALGROUND BEEF."
1.5-pound cryovaced packages of "LaPLATTE RIVER ANGUS FARM, LLC NATURALGROUND BEEF."

Each package label bears the establishment number "EST. 8751" inside the USDA mark of inspection as well as the identifying case code "093491."

The products were produced on December 15, 2009, and were distributed to restaurants and a retail establishment in Chittenden County, Vt.

Burnt Ridge Orchards, Inc., Onalaska WA is recalling 98 pounds of shelled hazelnuts because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The shelled hazelnuts that are subject to recall were sold Nov. 17th to Dec. 13th at the Olympia Farmer’s Market in Olympia, WA. They were packed in 8 oz and 16 oz zip lock plastic bags. This recall does not apply to hazelnuts sold in the shell.

The hazelnuts affected by this recall were sold as Filbert (hazelnut) kernels in bulk bin #10077 only at the Harry & David Country Village store, Medford, Oregon, prior to December 18, 2009.

Consumers who have purchased any of the bulk hazelnuts from the Harry & David Country Village store are encouraged to return them to the store for a full refund.

Evonuk Oregon Hazelnuts Recalls Raw and Dry Roasted Hazelnut Kernels

Evonuk Oregon Hazelnuts of Eugene, OR is recalling 6,712.5 lbs. of raw and dry roasted hazelnut kernels because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

After product sampling, Salmonella was found on one production lot at Willamette Shelling, of Newberg, OR, the facility where Evonuk Oregon Hazelnut’s hazelnuts kernels were shelled. Evonuk Oregon Hazelnuts has decided to recall all raw and dry roasted hazelnut kernels delivered or shipped by Evonuk Oregon Hazelnuts from November 2nd 2009 through December 4th 2009.

"Quick Fix" was distributed in Oregon and Washington at retail stores.

Beef Packers, Inc., a Fresno, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 22,723 pounds of ground beef products that may be linked to an outbreak of salmonellosis.

The products subject to recall include:

60 pound cases of "GRD Beef Fine 93/07 10/60." Each case bears the identifying case code W69363 with Use/Freeze by dates of 10/11/09.

The ground beef products were produced on September 23, 2009 and bear the establishment number "EST. 31913" printed on the case code labels. The ground beef products were distributed to a retail distribution center in Arizona. Because these products were repackaged into consumer-size packages and sold under different retail brand names, consumers should check with their local retailer to determine whether they may have purchased any of the products subject to recall.

Unilever Conducts Recall of Slim-Fast® Ready-to-Drink Products in Cans

Unilever United States, Inc., is conducting a recall of all Slim-Fast® ready-to-drink (RTD) products in cans, due to the possibility of contamination with Bacillus cereus, a micro-organism, which may cause diarrhea and possibly nausea and/or vomiting.

The products were sold in stores nationwide.

Product Description:

The products are packaged in paperboard cartons and contain four, six or 12 steel cans that are 11 FL OZ (325 mL) each. Individual cans are also sold in certain retail outlets. The recall involves all Slim-Fast® RTD products in cans, regardless of flavor, Best-By date, lot code or UPC number. A listing of all RTD recalled products is attached to this press release.

Consumers who have purchased Slim-Fast® RTD products in cans are urged to discard them immediately and contact the company at 1-800-896-9479 for a full refund. The Consumer Services Center is open Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM ET. A recorded message is available 24/7.
