Morningland Dairy Conducting  Recall of All Cheese Labeled as Morningland Dairy & Ozark Hills Farm 

Morningland Dairy of Mountain View, Missouri, is recalling 68,957 pounds of cheese because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes and also has the potential to be contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus.

Morningland Dairy’s raw milk cheese is sold in the lower 48 states via mail order, retail stores, crop sharing associations, and direct delivery. The cheese is packaged in vacuum-sealed plastic packages that are sold as random weight size retail packages. The specific varieties of cheese are sold under the following brand names and flavors: 

Morningland Dairy Raw Milk Cheese (from cow milk): Colby, Hot Pepper Colby, Garlic Colby, Italian Colby, Dill Colby, No-Salt Added Mild Cheddar, Mild Cheddar, Medium Sharp Cheddar, Sharp Cheddar. 

Ozark Hill Farms Raw Goat Milk Cheese: Colby, Hot Pepper Colby, Italian Colby, Garlic ‘N’ Chive Colby, Mild Cheddar, Medium Sharp Cheddar, Sharp Cheddar. 

The codes affected by the recall are handwritten on the front of the label, and range from A10 (representing January 1, 2010) through F250 (representing June 25, 2010).

Paleta California Co. Announces Recall of Frozen Mamey Paletas 

Paleta California, Co. is  recalling its 4 oz. Mamey Supreme Cream Bar (frozen fruit bars also known as "paletas") due to a potential health risk from Salmonella Typhi.

The recalled Mamey Supreme Cream Bar was distributed only in Southern California. Consumers may have purchased the recalled fruit bars through retail stores. The product retail unit comes in 4 oz. plastic wrapped frozen fruit bars. The Mamey Paletas are shipped to retail establishments in a package of 24 fruit bars per box. All production lot codes are being affected by this recall. The UPC of the recalled product is 636418002000. No other Paleta California, Co. products are affected. 

Consumers who have purchased the recalled 4 oz frozen mamey fruit bars are urged to discard the product or return it to the point of purchase for a refund.

Pennsylvania Firm Recalls Ground Beef Products Due to Possible E. coli O26 Contamination

Cargill Meat Solutions Corp., a Wyalusing, Pa. establishment, is recalling approximately 8,500 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O26.

The product subject to recall includes: 

The products subject to recall bears the establishment number "EST. 9400" inside the USDA mark of inspection. These products were produced on June 11, 2010, and were shipped to distribution centers in Connecticut and Maryland for further distribution.

Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. Clarifies Statement on Nationwide Shell Egg Recall 

Cal-Maine has recalled specific Julian dates of shell eggs purchased on May 31, 2010, from Hillandale Farms of Iowa and re-packaged by Cal-Maine’s Benton County, Arkansas, facility, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Potentially affected eggs that were received by Cal-Maine at this facility total approximately 24,000 dozen. The affected eggs were distributed to food wholesalers and retailers in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Cal-Maine’s Benton County, Arkansas, facility received these eggs from Hillandale Farms of Iowa, which were then re packaged into large loose 5, 15 and 30 dozen units. Cardenas Market Brand Label Included in Wright County Egg Recall 

Wright County Egg of Galt, Iowa is adding one California-distributed brand label – Cardenas Market – to its recall of August 13, 2010 of specific Julian dates of shell eggs produced by their farms because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  

The eggs affected were ultimately distributed to Cardenas Market stores in California and Nevada.  They were packaged in 60-egg cases that were overwrapped with plastic. Although the Cardenas Market label wasn't named in the original recall announcement, Eggs included in the recall are labeled with plant number 1026 and Julian dates ranging from 136 to 228.

Dates and codes can be found printed on the label.  The plant number begins with the letter P and then the number.  The Julian date follows the plant number, for example:  P-1026 228.

Trafficanda Egg Ranch is  recalling specific Julian dates of Medium, Large, X Large, and Jumbo Cartons; 5 Dozen Medium Over Wrap and 20 Count Over Wrap of shell eggs produced by Wright County Egg of Galt, Iowa because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  

Eggs affected by this recall were distributed to grocery stores and foodservice companies in California. The affected eggs were packaged under the Trafficanda Egg Ranch brand names packaged in 12-egg cartons, 20-egg over wrap, and 5 dozen over wrap with the Julian dates ranging from 136 to 229 and plant numbers 1026, 1413, 1720, 1942 and1946. Azteca Linda Corp. Recalls Queso Fresco and Queso Hebra 

Azteca Linda Corp. of Brooklyn, NY, is recalling QUESO FRESCO (FRESH WHITE CHEESE) and QUESO HEBRA (FRESH WHITE STRING CHEESE) with an expiration date of September 11, 2010 because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

QUESO FRESCO (FRESH WHITE CHEESE) was sold to two distributors in Providence, Rhode Island.  QUESO HEBRA (FRESH WHITE STRING CHEESE) was distributed to retail stores in Brooklyn and Staten Island, New York, and to one distributor in Providence, Rhode Island.

QUESO FRESCO (FRESH WHITE CHEESE) is packaged in a hard plastic (clam shell) container labeled with the brand name Queso El Azteca, UPC 0 23986 92692 8, and expiration date September 11, 2010 .  QUESO HEBRA (FRESH WHITE STRING CHEESE) is packaged in a vacuum sealed plastic bag, Net Weight 14 oz. and Net Weight 5 lbs., and labeled with the brand Queso El Azteca (Queso Oaxaca), no UPC coding, and with expiration date September 11, 2010.

New York Firm Recalls Deli Meat Products for Possible Listeria Contamination

Zemco Industries, a Buffalo, N.Y., establishment, is recalling approximately 380,000 pounds of deli meat products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. These products were distributed to delicatessens where they were further processed into sandwiches.

The packages also bear vendor number "398412808" and the USDA mark of inspection. The meat products were produced on various dates from June 18 to July 2, 2010, and have various "Use By" dates ranging from August 20 to September 10, 2010. The products were distributed nationwide to a single retail chain.

Moark, LLC, of Fontana, California, Recalls Shell Eggs Supplied From Hillandale Farms of Iowa 

Moark, LLC, is voluntarily recalling specific lots of shell eggs produced by Hillandale Farms of Iowa and packaged by Moark, LLC, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Potentially affected eggs that were received by Moark total approximately 24,300 dozen. Moark repackaged the eggs for retail customers (under the brand names Albertsons, Yucaipa Valley, Farmer’s Gems and Mountain Dairy), as well as providing unbranded eggs to foodservice customers. The eggs were sold by Moark to retail and wholesale customers in Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Milton's Baking Recalls 24 oz. Multi-Grain Bread 

Milton's Baking Company is recalling Milton's® Multi-Grain Bread which was distributed to locations in Northern and Central California, Arizona and Nevada because the loaves contain milk, an undeclared allergen.

This recall affects only Milton's® Multi-Grain Bread, 24oz, UPC 06541-92038 with the Plant Code 250 sold only in Northern and Central California, Arizona and Nevada. "All Best if Purchased By" dates through Aug 26 are included in the recall.

The product is sold in both single loaf 24 oz packages and in overwrapped double loaf packages. The plant code is printed on the front of the package under "Best if Purchased By" on the second line immediately after the date.

This product was sold in a variety of retail grocery and mass merchandise retailers in the areas of Northern and Central California, Arizona, and Nevada. GloryBee Foods, Inc., of Eugene, Oregon is recalling Aunt Patty's brand 5 pound bags of Whole Raw Pistachios and 25 lb. boxes of Specialty Commodities brand Whole Raw Pistachios Kernels, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The Whole Raw Pistachio Kernels were distributed in Oregon (Western to Central Oregon) and Washington (Western Washington) by direct delivery to retail stores and bakeries.

Whole Raw Pistachio Kernels were sold to GloryBee Foods, Inc. in 25 lb. boxes from Specialty Commodities, Inc. Labels on these boxes consist of "Packed for Specialty Commodities, Los Angeles, CA. 90010." The sides of the boxes are stamped in red with the lot number 32043.

GloryBee Foods, Inc. also re-packed these pistachios into 5 lb. bags (2.27 kg) labeled "Aunt Patty's Whole Raw Pistachios," lot number MG0017400, item number 16046., P/D 07/06/10, and UPC 0 30042 70040 8.

Consumers are urged to return all recalled product in stock to GloryBee Foods for a weight-based refund.

Eggs affected by this recall were distributed to food wholesalers and retailers in California and Nevada. NuCal Foods received these eggs from Hillandale Farms of Iowa which were then packaged into 5-dozen and 2.5-dozen overwrapped retail units. Goya Foods, Inc. of Secaucus, NJ, is recalling its 14 ounce packages of Frozen Mamey Pulp, due to a potential health risk from Salmonella

The recalled Goya brand Mamey Pulp was distributed in the states of AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, NM, NV, OR, TX, UT, and WA through retail stores.

The product comes in a 14 ounce plastic package and is not marked with a lot number or expiration date. The UPC is 041331090803.

Consumers who have purchased Goya brand Mamey Pulp are urged to discard the product and contact Goya Foods, Inc.’s Consumer Affairs for a full refund.

South Bend Chocolate Company Announces Recall of Bountiful Blend Chocolates Due to Undeclared Tree Nuts 

The South Bend Chocolate Company, South Bend, Indiana, is recalling 174 1-lb bags of Bountiful Blend, a blend of chocolate covered mixed nuts and dried fruits, because it contains undeclared cashews, almonds, pecans, and Brazil nuts. 

Bountiful Blend was sold via internet sales, mail order and may have been sold nationwide through our distributors to retail stores. 

The Bountiful Blend product impacted by the recall is sold under The South Bend Chocolate Company brand name and was produced on or after March 18, 2010. The product under recall is: Bountiful Blend in 1-lb Bags. Products with labels reading Item #154,UPC #644823001549 are subject to this recall.

California Firm Recalls Frozen Ground Beef Products Due To Possible E. Coli O157: H7 Contamination

Valley Meat Company, a Modesto, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately one million pounds of frozen ground beef patties and bulk ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.

Ugo. DiLullo & Sons, a Westville, N.J., establishment, is recalling approximately 147,667 pounds of canned meatball products because they contain an allergen, egg, which is not declared on the label.
