Vitaflo USA Announces Recall of Renastart 14.11 oz (400g) Cans Batch Number 12832

Vitaflo USA is recalling Renastart 14.11 oz (400g) cans, Batch Number 12832 (shown on underside of can), because some of the product shipped throughout the United States during the period December 29, 2011 through January 26, 2012 has been incorrectly labeled. Renastart is a powdered medical food used in the dietary management of pediatric renal disease, for patients one year and older in the United States.

Vitaflo USA is urging anyone who has any Renastart 14.11oz (400g) cans Batch Number 12832 to immediately stop using the product and to contact Vitaflo to arrange return of the product, at Vitaflo’s expense.

Renastart 14.11oz (400g) product in cans is sold only in the United States. This product is not sold under any other name.

Walgreen Co. Voluntarily Recalls Certain Lots of 13 Oz. Chocolate-Covered Raisins As Product May Contain Peanuts, Almonds, Soy Due to Packaging Error

Walgreen Co. is recalling certain lots of 13-oz. Walgreens Chocolate-Covered Raisins because the packages may contain Walgreens Bridge Mix with peanut, almond and soy ingredients.

Walgreen Co. has already instructed stores to stop selling the affected product, which can be identified as a blue and white plastic bag with chocolate-covered raisins pictured on the front and the following identifying information on the back label: best by date of "Oct 42012A1", UPC number 04902245661, and item number 280217. The affected product was distributed through Walgreen Co. distribution centers in Arizona, Connecticut and California and to Walgreens retail stores in the Northeastern and Western United States. Customers who have purchased the product may return it to Walgreens for a full refund.

Michigan Firm Recalls Salad Products for Possible Listeria Contamination

18th Street Deli Inc., a Hamtramck, Mich., establishment, is recalling approximately 118 pounds of julienne salad products with turkey, ham and hard-boiled eggs. The salads contain eggs that are the subject of an FDA recall due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The salad products were produced on Jan. 20, 2012 and then distributed to retail stores in Michigan and vending companies in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. The following products are subject to recall:

9.25-ounce packages of "18th Street Deli Julienne Salad," "18th Street Deli Julienne Salad Lite," and "Balanced Choice Julienne Salad Lite" that bear the establishment number "P-22061" inside the USDA mark of inspection and expiration dates of "01/27/12" and "01/30/12."

Minnesota Firm Recalls Beef Sirloin Products Due To Misbranding and an Undeclared Allergen

J&B Group, Inc., a St. Michael, Minn., establishment, is recalling approximately 2,645 pounds of beef sirloin products because the products are misbranded and contain an undeclared allergen. The products contain milk, a known allergen, which is not noted on the label.

The products subject to recall are:

10.5-lb cases of 28 count, 6 oz. "ELLISON MEAT COMPANY BEEF SIRLOIN TOP BUTT STEAK, CAP OFF, NO ROLL, MARINATED," with an identifying case code of "62149."
10-lb cases of 16 count, 10 oz. "ELLISON MEAT COMPANY BEEF SIRLOIN TOP BUTT STEAK CAP OFF / TENDERIZED WITH FICIN & BROMELAIN," with an identifying case code of "62151."

The products subject to recall bear the establishment number "EST. 15805" inside the USDA mark of inspection. These products were produced between Jan. 1, 2011, and Sept. 7, 2011, and were distributed for institutional use in Mont., N.D. and Texas. North Carolina Firm Recalls Diced Beef Products That May Contain Foreign Materials

RSW Distributors, LLC, a Forest City, N.C., establishment is recalling approximately 3,104 pounds of seasoned diced beef products that may contain foreign materials.

The products subject to recall include:

Cases containing 4 (four) 8-lb. vacuum-sealed 10x22 inch pouches of "SEASONED COOKED BEEF (DICED) Manufactured by Culinary Standards" and "EST. 8318" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The cases also bear the USDA Process Control Certification Program seal.

The products subject to recall were produced on Dec. 9, 2011 and shipped to institutions for further distribution to schools in South Carolina, Tennessee and Washington as part of the USDA's National School Lunch Program.

Bekkum Family Farms LLC of Westby, WI, is recalling shredded cheese because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The cheese is labeled "Grumpy Goat Shreds" under the Nordic Creamery brand name, in eight-ounce bags with a code date of 10-MAR-12. It was sold in stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota and California beginning Nov. 11. The product should be thrown away or returned to place of purchase for a full refund.
