Whole Foods Market Expands Its Recall Of Whole Catch Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Because Of Possible Health Risk From Listeria

Whole Foods Market is recalling an additional lot code (for a total of two lot codes) of Whole Catch Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon (4 oz), UPC code 0 99482 40880 0, cold smoked and sliced, sold in stores in 18 states, because it may contain Listeria Monocytogenes.

The first lot code, 7425A2298B, was recalled on Fri., Jan. 25, and was sold in stores in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, and Utah.

Named in this updated recall is a second lot code, 7425A2297A. Products with this lot code were sold in stores in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah.

Both lot codes of the recalled salmon were sold in black-and-gold, flat, rectangular vacuum-sealed packages. The lot codes are ink-jet printed on the back of the package, on the upper left side. Signage is posted in Whole Foods Market stores to notify customers of this recall.

Sprouter Northwest Recalls Alfafa, Brocco Sandwich Sprouts, Clover, Spicy Sprouts Because of Possible Health Risk

Sprouters Northwest of Kent, Washington is recalling 1953 pounds of alfalfa, clover, brocco sandwich sprouts, and spicy sprouts due to the potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Products were distributed from 1/10/13 to 1/18/13 in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and British Columbia, Canada through retail stores and food service distribution chain.

The affected products are sold under the Sprouters Northwest brand and are packaged in plastic clamshell containers and plastic 1 lb bags.

Specific Lots Of Hunt's Tomato Sauce Recalled For Can Defect

ConAgra Foods, Omaha, Neb., is recalling specific lots of its 8 ounce Hunt's Tomato Sauce (regular variety) and Hunt's Tomato Sauce No Salt Added that were packaged in cans containing a defect in the inner lining. Although there is no food safety concern associated with the product, the can defect may cause the can to swell and the product to spurt out when opened. ConAgra Foods is advising consumers who have purchased either of these from Best By dates shown to call 866-511-7752 to ask any questions, or to arrange for replacement.

The product was shipped to U.S. retail food stores and distributors in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. ConAgra Foods is working with retail customers and distributors to ensure these cans are removed from store shelves.

This recall is limited only to 8-ounce cans of Hunt’s Tomato Sauce (regular variety) and Hunt’s Tomato Sauce Not Salt Added bearing the following Best By dates. No other Hunt’s products are impacted. Homestead Creamery Artisan Cheese Removed from Store Shelves

  Homestead Creamery of Jamesport, Mo. is withdrawing a batch of its Flory's Favorite cheese from the marketplace.

Preliminary test results indicate the cheese may be contaminated with Shiga-Toxin producing E.coli, which can lead to food borne illness. 

The withdrawn product, Flory's Favorite, is a 60-day aged cheese made with raw milk. Packages of the cheese are marked with "Packed On 210" on the label. This affects approximately 250 pounds of cheese and does not affect any other dairy products from Homestead Creamery.

The withdrawn cheese was sold at Homestead Creamery facility in Jamesport, Mo. and may have been sold by the following retailers:

• HyVee in Trenton, Mo.

Island Delights, Inc. is recalling 492 Bags of its Coconut Haystack Candy due to mislabeling and undeclared allergens. The Coconut Haystack Candy contains milk that is not declared on the product label.

The recalled units were distributed to retail stores and through mail orders in the states of AZ, CA, FL, MA, MN, MS, NC, NY, SC, TX, VA, WA & WY between January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012. No other products are involved.

Delifist Recalls Product Because of Possible Listeria Monocytogenes Risk

Delifish has decided to expand the recall to include cold smoked products related to Julian dates 235 to 345, the previous  recall included cold smoked products related to Julian dates 249- 291. 

The expansion means that all cold smoked products that have been produced in the same period as the product type which initially tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.

Woodstock® Announces a Recall for One Code Date of Mislabeled Woodstock Tamari Almonds 

Woodstock® is recalling Woodstock Tamari Almonds, because of an incorrect back label on packages of a single Lot. This mislabeling incident resulted in an undeclared allergen (Soy).

The front of the retail package is correctly labeled Woodstock All Natural Tamari Almonds, 7.5 OZ. However, the back of the retail package has incorrect back label information – including Nutrition Facts, Ingredients, UPC# 0-42563—00838-3. One code date is affected: Best By: 10/24/13, Lot 12298, which appears on the shipping case sticker and on the back of the retail pouch (ONLY this Best By date is being recalled).

Southwest Ice Cream Specialties Conducts Recall of ShurFine® Brand "Creamery Select Premium Ice Cream Dulce de Leche" 1.75 Quarts Ice Cream 

Southwest Ice Cream Specialties is recalling ShurFine Brand "Creamery Select (Premium Ice Cream) Dulce de Leche" Ice Cream (1.75 quarts, 1.66L) because it may contain praline pecan ice cream, which contains wheat, soy and pecans. The product is packed with a ShurFine Praline Pecan lid, but bears the Dulce de Leche product labeling on the carton. 

This product is produced by the Southwest Ice Cream Specialties processing facility in McKinney, Texas, and is sold at various retail outlets under the ShurFine brand name. 

The affected product has a "Best By" date of November 8, 2014, and was sold by retailers in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas. The carton carries the above referenced Universal Product Code (UPC) and plant code 48-3202-F.

The product was shipped to retail food distributors in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania for distribution to retail stores in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia

The affected product, Andy Capp’s Hot Fries, is packaged in .85-ounce blue poly bags with an Andy Capp’s graphic logo and picture of the hot fries product on the front panel.
