Gray Squirrel Nut Company Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanuts, Milk Products, Yellows #5 and #6 in Their Autumn Trails Delite Trail Mix

 

Gray Squirrel Nut Company of St. Ignatius, Montana is recalling the 16-ounce packages of Autumn Trails Delite trail mix because it contains undeclared peanuts, milk products, and Yellows #5 and #6.

 

The 16-ounce packages of Autumn Trails Delite were distributed to retail stores throughout Montana, southeast Idaho, northern Idaho, and western Wyoming.

 

Autumn Trails Delite is packaged in clear plastic bags labeled as Gray Squirrel Nut Co., Autumn Trails Delite, 16 oz. There are no manufacturing or expiration codes associated with this product. The UPC is 1629451000.

Zander's Creamery, Inc. Nationwide Recall of Butter & Butterine Products Because of Possible Health Risk

 

Zander's Creamery, Inc., of Cross Plains, Wisconsin is recalling butter and butterine (60% butter and 40% margarine) products, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

 

The only known butter and butterine sold in retail stores is at GFS Marketplace Stores located in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan under the GFS label, in 1 lb. prints, butter cups, continentals, patties and 5 lb. whipped tubs.

The other butter and butterine products were distributed nationwide. These products include individual serving butter chips used by restaurants, butter and butterine cups distributed to restaurants, tubs of whipped butter for restaurants and bulk butter for food manufacturers, primarily under the Zander's and GFS labels.

 

The recalled butter and butterine products have codes beginning with 043 to 100 as the first three digits.

 

Consumers who have purchased affected butter products are urged to return them to the place of purchase.

Crystal Farms Initiates Voluntary 13-State Recall of Two Margarine Products

 

Crystal Farms Refrigerated Distribution Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Michael Foods, Inc., is recalling 451 cases of two specific margarine products because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

 

The precautionary recall takes effect immediately and involves retail stores in 13 states (Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Wisconsin).

 

The two margarine products involved are:

Crystal Farms 60% Margarine -- 40% Butter, Butter Blend Margarine Quarters (UPC 75925-21004). Bright orange box with expiration dates of 6/28/04 and 7/14/04

Crystal Farms 60% Margarine -- 40% Butter, Butter Blend Margarine Solids
(UPC 75925-21000).
Bright orange wrapper with expiration date of 6/28/04

 

Customers are asked not to consume these products and instead return the products to the place of purchase for a prompt and full cash refund. No other Crystal Farms products are affected by this action. To date, there have been no reports of illness related to the products subject to this recall.

 

"Consumer safety is the top priority of Crystal Farms so we are initiating a voluntary recall of these two margarine products," said Crystal Farms President Mark Anderson. "I'd like to reiterate that there have not been any illnesses and that this recall ONLY relates to these two Crystal Farms Margarine Blends. This recall does NOT extend to any other Crystal Farms products."
