Lowell Int'l. located at 24 Greenpoint Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11222, is recalling "Winiary" Mayonnaise because it may contain undeclared eggs.

 

The recalled "Winiary" Mayonnaise, packed in a 250ml glass jar with a metal cap and code 06 08 2004 and "Winiary" Mayonnaise, packed in a 400ml glass jar with a metal cap and code 20 08 2004, were sold in New York and distributed to the firm's other warehouse in Chicago, Illinois.

Fuji Natural Foods Recalls Alfalfa Sprouts

 

Fuji Natural Foods is announcing a recall of some of its alfalfa sprouts in response to a request from the State of California. The alfalfa sprouts were distributed to food service distributors and retail stores in California and Nevada. State officials have identified the seed lot implicated in illnesses due to infection with Salmonella bovismorbificans in Oregon and Washington. This same seed lot was also used by Fuji. Fuji’s products have not been associated with any illness. However, because of the possibility that similar seeds were used by both companies, California officials and Fuji have announced that the prudent course would be for Fuji to recall product as well.

 

The Fuji Natural Foods alfalfa sprouts are packaged in 4-ounce cups, two-pound trays, and five-pound trays. In addition, Fuji Spicy Sprouts and Zesty Sprouts packaged in four-ounce cups, which contain alfalfa sprouts, are also being recalled. A four-digit code number (stamped on top of the cups and on a sticker on the plastic bag enclosing the trays) can be referenced to the recalled code numbers.

Sun-Sen, Sacramento, California is recalling all alfalfa sprouts, which were distributed through produce markets to restaurants in California and Nevada because they may be linked to a recent cluster of illnesses in Oregon and Washington State.

 

The sprouts are packaged in one-pound and four-ounce plastic bags. Heineken USA Recalls Buckler Non-Alcohol Brew

 

Heineken USA is issuing a voluntary product recall for 12–ounce bottles of Buckler non-alcohol brew. The recall covers approximately 15,000 cases of product sold to consumers since March 1, 2004.

 

It has been discovered that, due to a production error, a very small percentage (less than 0.05%)of the Buckler product may contain an amount of yeast that has not been removed through the normal pasteurization process. The result of the excess yeast is a product which is cloudy in appearance and which may, over time, contain slightly higher levels of alcohol than the normal Buckler specification of less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.

 

Heineken USA asks any consumers who may have affected product to call 1-800-HEINEKEN between the hours of 9 A.M. and 8 P.M. , Eastern, for further direction.

 

Again, this recall only affects Buckler non-alcohol brew sold since March 1, 2004 . No other company brands are impacted in any way.

 

Heineken USA apologizes for any inconvenience to its consumers and customers.

Penzeys Spices of Brookfield, WI, has decided to recall all sizes of Hungarian Sweet Paprika because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

 

The recalled Hungarian Sweet Paprika was distributed nationwide between January 2, 2004 and June 9, 2004 through mail orders as well as in Penzeys Spices retail stores located in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin. The product comes in 1.2 oz. plastic jars, 2.5 oz. clear glass jars, and in 4 oz., 8 oz., and 16 oz. bags. The products in question are marked with the codes 47535,47551, 47548, 47580 or 47519. 6,388 jars and 2,550 bags were produced. Penzeys Spices are not distributed in retail grocery chains, only via mail order and through Penzeys Spices stores.

Down to Earth Sprouts is recalling its 4 ounce and 1 pound bulk packages of alfalfa and spicy mix sprouts because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

The recalled sprouts were distributed in retail stores and restaurants in Montana.

 

The alfalfa and spicy mix sprouts come in a 4 ounce, clear plastic sandwich bag which is sealed shut with a Down to Earth label. The 1 pound bulk packages are packed in a 4x4.5x15 clear plastic bag sealed with a twist tie.

Bucks County Distributors Food Products That May Contain Undeclared Food Allergens

 

Bucks County Distributors is conducting a nationwide recall of its entire line of food products (148 different products) because none of them include ingredient statements. This lack of proper ingredient statements could pose a risk to people with food allergies - especially since many of Bucks County Distributors products contain sulfites, colors and known food allergens such as peanuts, milk, eggs, and tree nuts.

 

The recalled products are generally sold in 4 ounce clear plastic cups with sealed lids. Although the products are sold under a wide variety of names, they can all readily be identified by a 1” X 2 ¾” white address label that bears the name of the product, its net weight, “Distributed By: Bucks County Distributors” and the company's phone number.

 

Bucks County Distributors is based in Trevose, Pennsylvania and distributes the product throughout the United States. To date no injuries have been reported.

 

Consumers or retailers who have these product should not consume or sell them, but instead should contact the company at 215-638-2687 to make arrangements for receiving proper labeling for the product. High Liner Foods (USA) Inc. of Portsmouth , New Hampshire is recalling Archer Farms Breaded Cod Fillets with the UPC Code 8523912126 , and with date codes having the following first 4 digits: 2175, 2189, 2198, 2296, 3015, 3069, 3092, 3098, 3112, 3189, 3204, 3273, 3322, 3352, 4027, 4041, 4057, 4119. Consumers can find the date code on the flap to the left of principal display panel.

 

High Liner Foods is voluntarily recalling the Breaded Cod Fillets because the product contains egg whites that are not identified on the label.

 

The affected Archer Farms 24 oz. Frozen Breaded Cod Fillets were sold at SuperTarget stores nationwide and at traditional Target stores located in Wheaton, IL at 601 South County Farm Road and in Tucson, AZ at 9615 E Old Spanish Trail. The fillets have been removed from store shelves and are no longer available for purchase, but some packages may remain in consumer possession.

 

Only product with the UPC Code and date codes noted above are affected by this recall. Be assured that all other Archer Farms frozen seafood products are not subject to this recall.

Isabella Foods, Inc., Recalls Tekita Brand Pico De Gallo Because of Possible Health Risk

 

Isabella Foods, Inc., of El Paso, Texas is recalling 13 ounce containers of Tekita Brand Pico de Gallo, lot number 1550401, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

 

The Pico de Gallo was distributed in 13 oz tubs through large retail grocery facilities in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Tekita Brand Pico de Gallo is packaged in clear, plastic, 13 oz tubs with a yellow round label affixed to the lid. The product has a small white sticker affixed to the tub which indicates lot number 1550401.

M&P Fine Foods dba Bento & Co, Lynnwood, WA is recalling its 12 ounce packages of Asian noodle bowl VEGETARIAN YAKISOBA and Asian noodle bowl yakisoba w/vegetables because they contain undeclared soybeans, wheat, yellow #5, and yellow #6. People who have allergies to soybeans run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

 

The recalled Asian noodle bowl VEGETARIAN YAKISOBA and Asian noodle bowl yakisoba w/vegetables were distributed throughout the Puget Sound, Washington area in retail stores, institutions, and cafeterias.

The products come in a 12 ounce, clear plastic package with “0629” or “0627” ink stamped on a sticker on the top of the package.

Rainbow Garden Kauai Recalls Alfalfa Sprouts Sold Before June 10, 2004 Because of Possible Health Risk

 

Rainbow Garden Kauai, Kapaa, Hawaii, is recalling its 1 lb. bulk and 4 oz. packages of alfalfa sprouts which were distributed through wholesale/retail/Sunshine market sales on Kauai. The sprouts were germinated from a seed lot which recent epidemiological data suggested may have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella Bovismorbificans.

 

The sprouts are packaged in one-pound and four-ounce plastic bags, labeled "Rainbow Garden Kauai Alfalfa Sprouts." The products are not dated but could have been purchased up through and including June 10, 2004.
