Monterey Gourmet Foods Issues a Voluntary Recall of Mislabeled CIBO Naturals "Portabella Mushroom Ravioli" Due to Undeclared Lobster Meat

Monterey Gourmet Foods has issued a voluntary recall for CIBO Naturals Portabella Mushroom Grande Ravioli due to the undeclared presence of lobster meat, a known allergen. Some units of CIBO Natural's Atlantic Lobster Ravioli were inadvertently labeled as Portabella Mushroom Ravioli. Persons who have an allergy to lobster meat are at risk of a serious and possibly life threatening reaction if they consume this product.

The product being recalled is packaged as an 8 oz. unit with a UPC code of 81024 30061. Lobster is not listed as an ingredient listed on the label. The lot number is "Use or Freeze by Jan 29 2005".

The product being recalled was shipped to QFC in the northwestern state of Washington and to Kroger Company where it was distributed to retail stores in Cincinnati, OH, Atlanta, GA; Louisville, KY; Roanoke, VA; and Memphis, TN. No illness or allergenic reactions have been reported to the Company. Consumers who have purchased this product should return it to the retail store where it was purchased for a full refund.

The Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories in Columbus, Ohio announced today that it is voluntarily recalling one lot of Similac Advance with Iron powdered infant formula in 12.9-ounce cans, Lot Number 20307RB due to the presence of black plastic particles reported in a small number of cans. The Lot Number 20307RB is printed on the bottom of the can.

This formula was distributed between September 15, 2004 and October 18, 2004 primarily in the Eastern half of the United States and in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri.

The Minh production facility of Schwan's Food Manufacturing, Inc., is recalling certain egg roll and spring roll products that may contain small bits of glass. This is a voluntary recall. Based upon production records the affected product was produced between November 9 and 10, 2004. Only the following products with the date codes listed below are being recalled. The date codes are printed on the side of the product cartons and cases.

10 lbs. cases of "MINH, VEGETABLE EGG ROLLS." Each case bears the date code "384314."

Florida Smoked Fish of Miami Recalls Packages of The Boy's Farmer Market Brand of "Smoked Nova Salmon"

Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson today announced that Florida Smoked Fish of Miami is recalling its packages of The Boy's Farmer Market brand of "Smoked Nova Salmon" because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.

The recalled "Smoked Nova Salmon" was distributed nationwide. The "Smoked Nova Salmon" comes in a clear, plastic wrapped, 1 pound package with a use-by date of 4/24/05, batch 31997. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

NY FISH, INC. ANNOUNCES RECALL OF UNEVISCERATED FISH

NY Fish, Inc., 738 Chester Street, Brooklyn, NY 11236 is recalling all containers of its "Salt Cured Herring". The herring was discovered to be uneviscerated by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors during a routine inspection. 

This product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum spores, which can cause Botulism, a serious and potentially fatal food-borne illness.

NY Fish, Inc. "Salt Cured Herring" is packaged in 5 gallon, white buckets. The recalled product was sold to stores in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

Salton, Inc. Announces a Nationwide Recall of Approximately 2,700 Russell Hobbs® Mona Cordless Jug Kettles Due to Possible Lead Risk

Salton, Inc. announces the following voluntary recall.  Consumers should immediately stop using the Russell Hobbs® Mona Cordless Jug Kettle, Model No. RHMK3022, and contact Salton, Inc. for instructions on how to return the product and receive a replacement product.

Salton, Inc. of Lake Forest, IL, is voluntarily recalling approximately 2,700 Russell Hobbs® Mona Cordless Jug Kettles, Model No. RHMK 3022, manufactured by Chiaphua Industries Limited, due to their alleged ability to leach lead.  

The only affected kettles are the Russell Hobbs® Mona Cordless Jug Kettles, Model No. RHMK 3022, shipped in limited quantities only during the period between July 2002 through October 2004.  The affected kettles are 10 inches in height, are silver in color, and were sold in the United States through Bloomingdales and Bed Bath & Beyond, through Salton, Inc.'s online store and some of Salton, Inc.'s outlet stores, and through various e-tailers during that same period of time.
