Bedside Cradle - W.C. Redmon Co., of Peru, Ind., is recalling about 1,800 "Cuddle Me Close" bedside cradles for repair. The wooden cradle is for infants from birth to 3 months of age and attaches to an adult bed to keep the baby within arm's reach. It is painted white and comes with four wooden legs. Each leg has three segments to adjust the height of the cradle. The legs on the cradles can become loose and can separate, causing the cradle to tip. Infant product catalogs, including One Step Ahead and Popular Club, and juvenile product stores, including Babies R Us and several small independent stores, sold the cradles nationwide for about $149 beginning in February 1998.
Consumers should stop using the Cuddle Me Close cradle immediately and call Redmon collect at (765) 473-6683 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. EST for free replacement legs. Consumers can also write to W.C. Redmon Co., P.O. Box 7, Peru, Ind. 46970. If assembled incorrectly, the glider support tube on these gym sets could bend or break, causing the riders to fall or be thrown from the glider.
Henry" Gym Sets - Menard Inc. of Eau Claire, Wis., is recalling about 8,000 "Henry" Gym Sets, model #68. It includes two swings and a glider. The gym set is chrome colored with a blue top horizontal bar. The 18 Menard retail stores in the North Central region of the U.S. sold these gym sets from July 1991 through August 1998 for about $50.
Consumers should not allow children to ride on the gym set glider until they check if their gym set is assembled correctly. To determine this and to receive revised assembly instructions, consumers should call Menard Inc. toll-free at (888) 215-3349 anytime.
