Keanall Products Inc. Announces Recall of Deluxe Grill Rocks

Keanall Products Inc., of Ardmore, Tenn., is recalling approximately 4,200 packages of Deluxe Grill Rocks, used as replacement briquettes in gas grills. The rocks can break apart when heated, possibly causing pieces to be ejected from the grill, and resulting in burns to nearby consumers.

The Deluxe Grill Rocks are pyramid shaped and reddish brown in color. The product is available for sale in a box containing approximately 54 pieces. The package reads, "GRILL Care gourmet series...DELUXE GRILL ROCKS...Continually cleans as you cook -- virtually maintenance free." Much of the wording on the package is in English, French and Spanish. The packages also show a photo of shrimp cooking on a grill. The Deluxe Grill Rocks being recalled were manufactured by CharmBrik & Stone Inc. in Mexico. Wal-Mart retail stores nationwide sold the Deluxe Grill Rocks between January 1998 and April 1998 for about $10.

Consumers should stop using these Deluxe Grill Rocks immediately, and return them to the store where purchased for a refund, or call Keanall toll-free to return the product using the company's overnight mail account. For more information, consumers should call Keanall toll-free at (800) 668-5323 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m EDT on Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m EDT on Sunday.
