Urgent: ADM Alliance Nutrition Recalling MoorMan’s® ShowTec® 18 Elite Lamb Feed

ADM Alliance Nutrition, Inc. ("Alliance Nutrition") is recalling 50-pound bags of MoorMan’s® ShowTec® 18 Elite Lamb DC, product number 80939MPS, because the product has high levels of copper. There are three lot numbers involved in this recall: BF23512, BF27812, and BF29312. These were distributed between Aug. 24, 2012, and Nov. 21, 2012. The product could have been purchased directly from Alliance Nutrition or through distributors.

The recalled sheep feed was shipped to distributors and customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The high copper levels were discovered as a result of an investigation stemming from a report of two sheep deaths. The lot number, BF23512, BF27812, or BF29312, can be found at the bottom of the label. Customers who have purchased the recalled feed may return it to their distributor or directly to Alliance Nutrition for a full refund. Claudia’s Canine Cuisine® Recalls it’s Dogcandy® Brand of Holiday Hound Cake (7.5 Oz.) and Blueberry Hound Cake (7.5 Oz) 

The product in question is a single production run and packed in a 7.5 ounce paw print bag marked with a best by date of 08-2015. The best by date can be found on the ingredient label on the back of the package just above the UPC bar code.  The UPC for the Blueberry Hound Cake is:  692614010058; The UPC for the Holiday Hound Cake is:  692614010041.

The recall applies to 7.5 oz. bags of DogCandy® Holiday Hound Cake and Blueberry Hound Cake because the cakes have the potential to become moldy.  These cakes were manufactured specifically for PetSmart Corporation and distributed to approximately 130 PetSmart stores in 36 states.  No other products have been impacted.

Selected stores in the following states carried the cakes: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

The UPC can be located on the back label of each package. The lot Code is located on a sticker on the back of each bag of the 5 count product.

This lot of product has yielded a positive test for Salmonella .

Magnolia Bird Farm, Incorporated, of Anaheim, California, is recalling Raw and Roasted In-shell Peanuts and Magnolia Bird Farm Bird seed mixes that contain peanuts, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. 

Products were distributed (October 12, 2011 to October 12, 2012). Peanuts in the original Sunland yellow mesh bag will have either best by dates from October 12, 2012 through October 12, 2013 on the packaging, or a “Crop Year” marking on the package of 2011 or 2012, up to and including October 12, 2012.

The recall notification is being issued based on a single manufacturing batch wherein a sample with the "Best Before" dates of August 28, 29 and 30, 2012 had a positive result for salmonella. The AvoDerm Natural Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Adult Dog Formula product was originally manufactured on August 29, 2012 and distributed on August 30 and 31, 2012. Salmonella testing was conducted by Silliker, Inc. (Southern California Laboratory). Breeder's Choice Pet Foods has taken immediate action to remove the product from all applicable distribution centers and retail customers, and is fully investigating the cause.

Recalled products were distributed to retailers and distributors in the states of California, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, Virginia, and Washington.

Consumers who have purchased the AvoDerm Natural Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Adult Dog Formula product with the above-referenced "Best Before" dates are urged to contact Breeder's Choice Customer Service representatives.

Land O'Lakes Purina Feed LLC Announces Recall Of Certain Poultry Feeds 

 Land O'Lakes Purina Feed LLC is recalling certain varieties of poultry feed products with the specific lot codes listed below, due to the lack of added vitamin D in these products. Inadequate levels of vitamin D in a bird’s diet for greater than 2-3 weeks may cause bone weakness, fractures or joint problems, and potentially death, if birds are not exposed to direct sunlight daily. 

The affected products were manufactured between May 23 and July 20, 2012, at the Milford, Indiana, Nashville, Tennessee and St. Joseph, Missouri feed plants, and distributed nationwide under the Purina and DuMOR brand names listed below. All products manufactured after July 20 include added vitamin D in their formulation.

PMI Nutrition International has determined that additional Mazuri® and LabDiet® products fall within the scope of previous  recalls, and is expanding a recall to include the additional varieties with specific lot codes listed below due to the potential for elevated vitamin D levels. 

The products were distributed nationwide and to international customers in Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, Taiwan, Singapore, Chile, and Uruguay. Lot codes for some products listed in this recall expansion extend beyond this date range, due to recoding upon further manufacturing, including use as an ingredient in other feed formulations or packaging into different sizes. Dealers have been asked to hold their inventories of these products, to notify affected customers, and to retrieve the product from these customers. Recall of Feed Solutions Feed Products 

Feed Solutions is recalling certain varieties of the feed products with specific lot codes listed below, due to the potential for elevated vitamin D levels. 

These products were manufactured at the Richmond, IN feed plant and were distributed at select Tractor Supply and Del’s Feed & Farm Supply stores nationwide starting April 2, 2012 through May 8, 2012. The affected Tractor Supply and Del’s Feed & Farm Supply locations have been contacted and asked to hold these products and to notify and retrieve the product from customers. The affected product should not be used, and where applicable, be returned to the closest Tractor Supply or Del’s Feed & Farm Supply location.

Lot numbers for the WellSolve W/G® product are laser printed at the bottom of the label next to the ingredients listing on each pail. Lot numbers for the other recalled products are laser printed on the back of each paper bag near the top. PMI Nutrition International Initiates Recall of AquaMax™ Products; Expands Recall of Mazuri® and LabDiet®Feed Products 

PMI Nutrition International is recalling certain varieties of the AquaMax™ feed products with specific lot codes listed below, due to the potential for elevated vitamin D levels. 

The company is also expanding its previously recalls to include additional varieties of the Mazuri® and LabDiet® feed products with specific lot codes listed below due to analytical test results on additional lots of retained samples that indicate a potential for elevated levels of vitamin D. Elevated vitamin D levels may cause death, or otherwise be harmful to animals and fish if fed for extended periods potentially resulting in lack of interest in eating, weight loss and possible joint stiffness. These products are being added to those from earlier recalls announced on July 3, 2012 and July 6, 2012* which were initiated after receiving a small number of customer complaints which involved animal illness and small bird and guinea pig mortality.

All products included in these recalls were manufactured at the Richmond, IN feed plant and were distributed nationwide and to Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Mexico, Cambodia, Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Chile, and the United Kingdom, starting April 2, 2012 through May 8, 2012. Dealers have been contacted and asked to hold these products and to notify and retrieve the product from customers. The affected product should not be used, and where applicable, be returned to the retail dealer.

Name of Product: Happy Mouth Wire Mouth Bits

Hazard: The steel braided wire in the mouthpiece that connects the bit on either side of the horse’s cheeks can become frayed, rusted or worn, which can cause the bit to break. If this happens, the rider can lose control and fall from the horse.

Description: This recall involves eight models of Happy Mouth wire mouth bits used with a bridle in horseback riding. The bits involved in this recall have steel braided wire running through the plastic mouthpiece and most with a metal ring on each end. Model numbers included in the recall are 462172SS, 462177SS, 462181SS, 462184SS, 464123SS, 466898SS, 466904SS and 467248SS. Model numbers can be found on a label attached to the product. “Happy Mouth” is engraved on the plastic mouthpiece.

Sold at: Equestrian riding stores, tack shops, saddlery dealers nationwide, through mail order and by online equestrian retailers from July 2003 through April 2012 for between $30 and $51.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using these bits and return them to the retailer where purchased or return the bits directly to English Riding Supply for a refund.

Feed Solutions is voluntarily recalling a single lot of DuMOR® Poultry Layer 16% Crumbles, which was incorrectly packaged and shipped in DuMOR® Poultry Grower/Finisher bags. The incorrectly packaged feed, while appropriate for layers, can be potentially harmful if fed to young chicks as a grower/finisher.

The product was shipped nationally from December 20, 2011 through March 15, 2012.  In total, 7,056 1-oz. containers of Wardley® Advanced Nutrition™ Perfect Protein™ Tropical Flake Fish Food, UPC number 0-43324-00591-7, isolated to the lot codes PP34911, PP34912, PP35011 and PP35012, which were manufactured by Hartz at its Pleasant Plain, Ohio facility from two production runs, were shipped.

Cargill Animal Nutrition Conducts Recall of Nutrena NatureWise ® Goat Pellets

Cargill Animal Nutrition is recalling Nutrena NatureWise ® Goat Pellets  due to an error in labeling. The bags of affected goat feed  should have indicated that the feed included Decoquinate, a medicated article for the prevention of coccidiossis that is commonly included in ruminant feed, but which is not approved for lactating goats.

The goat pellets were manufactured at Cargill’s Montgomery, Ala., facility on Dec. 31, 2011, Feb. 18, 2012, and Feb. 25, 2012.  The pellets were distributed in five states -- Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and North Carolina.  Additional information regarding the products affected by this recall is listed below:

Western Feed, LLC Conducts Recall Of Feed Distributed In Nebraska And Wyoming

Western Feed, LLC is recalling two lots (M718430 and M720280) of Kountry Buffet 14% feed because it may contain monensin sodium (Rumensin).  The feed is packaged in 50 lb. bags bearing the Payback logo with the attached tag identifying the product as Kountry Buffet 14%.  Monensin sodium is a medication approved for use in some livestock and poultry species, but can be fatal to horses if fed at sufficiently high levels.

The lot number (M718430 and M720280) can be found towards the bottom of the tag, below the Feeding Directions.

This feed was distributed December 2, 2011 through December 15, 2011 to retailers in Nebraska and Wyoming. Retailers receiving product from the lot in question have removed it from their stores.

Customers who purchased Kountry Buffet 14% from lot M718430 and M720280 should stop feeding the product immediately and call Western Feed LLC at 308-247-2601, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM MT.
